La Cumbrecita is a little slice of Bavaria tucked into the High Plains of Central Argentina.

Translated as “small mountain” or “summit”, La Cumbrecita was founded more than 80 years ago by German settler Helmut Cabjolsky. While he moved halfway around the world, he reconstructed a piece of his native Germany in rural Argentina.

All these decades later, La Cumbrecita maintains a distinctive Bavarian architecture and Alpine feel. The surrounding mountains and cooler climate permit residents and visitors to forget they are in South America and instead becoming transported to the higher altitudes of Central Europe.

Keep up with Matt on a day trip from Cordoba and discover what La Cumbrecita offers inside the cobblestone roads of the village and the trails leading into hillside.
